Gene Schmidt and Dr. Kwasi Jayourba Outreach Series
The Gene Schmidt and Dr. Kwasi Jayourba Outreach Series are outreach projects by Thousand Bridges Opera done in memory of Bridget’s maternal grandfather and Alicia’s father. These musical projects are meant to serve vulnerable members of the greater community, especially children, those who are elderly, or those who may suffer from neurodegenerative disease.

This intergenerational class offering includes content from internationally acclaimed Kindermusik’s Bridges program, designed for young children and elderly care facility residents to participate in together!

Free and Low-Cost Concerts
We love to perform in our community! Thousand Bridges Opera has performed for free events such as Schenley Plaza Kids Days. We also offer low-cost aria concerts to care facilities.

Opera... Is a Drag!
A free family-friendly Drag story time at your local library… with a twist! After each fairytale is read by a Pittsburgh drag performer, hear an aria from the operatic version sung live by local vocal professionals!
